STAR Methodology to write your LinkedIn experience section

 

When writing down your work and experience use this – Situation or Task, Action and Result. It will help to write down your work experience in a focused manner.

Give an example of a situation when you had to use your skills. Or a task that you had to accomplish using them. Example – Responsible for developing the management strategy for transformation program.

Describe the actions that you took. Focus on yourself even if it was a group effort. Example – Worked closely with leadership, the VP’s, to get them ready for the new management strategy. Devised the internal change plan for those being impacted by the change of the IT strategy.

Now mention the result of your action. Example – Successful adoption of the new management strategy resulted in a 20% increase in efficiency.
